The Sierra Rose, an 85-foot, three-story luxury yacht, is partially submerged at its Tahoe Keys Mari- na dock in South Lake Tahoe on Monday. Witnesses say they heard crunching sounds about 9 p.m. Sunday, and police said a me- chanical problem had occurred but was thought fixed before the vessel began to sink.
